Some of these are harder than what is likely to come at interview, but if you can do these and learn the principles behind prioritisation of cases, you will do great!
The most common MMI questions cover your motivation for medicine, what you learned from work experience, your understanding of the NHS, ethical scenarios (such as confidentiality or refusing treatment), teamwork, and roleplay or breaking-bad-news stations. This bank groups 360+ questions by exactly these themes so you can drill each station type in turn.
You do not need to memorise an answer to every question. Aim to prepare strong, structured answers for the common themes (motivation, work experience, ethics, NHS, teamwork) and have a rough idea for the rest. Working through this 360-question bank with a partner is more valuable than learning a handful of answers word for word.
Yes. This is a free question bank with 360+ medical school interview questions covering MMI and panel formats. You can practise them with friends, family or a tutor at no cost. For worked model answers and structured frameworks, pair the bank with our medicine interview questions guide and ethics guide.
An MMI (Multiple Mini Interview) is a circuit of short timed stations, each testing one skill such as ethics, communication, roleplay or data interpretation. A panel interview is a longer conversation with two to four interviewers covering several topics. Most UK medical schools now use MMIs, but the questions in this bank suit both formats.
Avoid clichés like 'I want to help people'. Link a specific experience (work experience, a patient interaction, volunteering) to a genuine, evidenced motivation, then show you understand the realities of the job. Our 'Why Medicine? Background and motivation' guide breaks down a structure that sounds natural rather than rehearsed.
Common ethics stations involve confidentiality, consent and capacity, refusal of treatment, organ donation, euthanasia and assisted dying, resource allocation (QALYs), and Gillick competence. Frame answers around the four pillars (autonomy, beneficence, non-maleficence, justice). Our ethics guide covers each pillar with 100 worked scenarios.
For 2026 interviews, know resident (junior) doctor strikes and contracts, the GP shortage and 8am scramble, NHS waiting-list backlogs, the NHS Long Term Workforce Plan, physician associates, AI in medicine, antibiotic resistance, the abolition of NHS England, and weight-loss injections. Our NHS hot topics guide keeps these current.
For roleplay, focus on active listening, empathy and not jumping to solutions. For breaking bad news, use the SPIKES framework (Setting, Perception, Invitation, Knowledge, Empathy, Strategy). Practise out loud with a partner playing the patient. Our roleplay and SPIKES guides give worked scenarios and scripts.
For prioritisation, learn the principles (clinical urgency, safety, resource limits) rather than memorising answers, then think aloud and justify your ordering. For calculation stations, practise drug-dose and unit-conversion maths under time pressure. See our prioritisation and MMI calculation guides for worked examples.
Oxford and Cambridge interviews are more science-based and discussion-led than MMIs. Expect questions on physiology, biochemistry and applying knowledge to unfamiliar problems (for example, how haemoglobin transports oxygen, or how the body regulates temperature). The Oxbridge section of this bank lists sample questions to practise reasoning aloud.
This page is a continually updated online bank, which stays more current than a static PDF. You can save or print the page for offline practice. For model answers and frameworks, our Ultimate Medicine Interview Questions Guide and ethics guide provide worked responses you can adapt to your own experiences.
Most UK medicine interviews run from December to March for 2027 entry, with Oxbridge in early to mid December. Start light interview prep once your UCAS application is submitted, then build intensity after the UCAT results, aiming for several weeks of focused practice before your first interview using a bank like this one.
Yes. These questions work well for live practice. We offer 1-1 medicine interview tutoring and panel/MMI-style mock interviews so you can rehearse under realistic conditions and get tailored feedback on content, structure and delivery. Practising aloud with feedback is far more effective than silent reading.
Interviewers look for genuine motivation, insight from work experience, empathy and communication, ethical reasoning, teamwork, resilience and an honest understanding of a doctor's role and the NHS. Strong answers use specific examples and reflection rather than generic statements, showing what you learned and how it shaped you.

Ultimate Package students from our 2025/26 cycle, with their UCAT scores and offers, who trained with us for the UCAT, personal statements and interviews.
“Harry got my UCAT up to 2,590, working through the sections I kept dropping marks on week by week. Gemma then ran my interview practice so the MMI stations didn't catch me out, and Dr Akash mentored me the whole way through. I'm off to King's for Medicine.”
“The interview prep was the part that actually moved the needle. Proper mock MMIs, not just lists of questions, and feedback that was honest about what I was getting wrong. I ended up with four offers and firmed UCL.”
“The Ultimate Package kept me organised from UCAT through to interviews. They knew what dental schools actually ask and tightened up my personal statement. Four offers in the end, and I'm going to Birmingham.”
“Vet applications come down to the written SAQs as much as the interview. Dr Rebecca went through my SAQs line by line, sharpened my answers and prepped me for the panels. I came away with four offers and chose the RVC.”
