Everything you need to know about calculating your UCAT Decile and working out your rank amongst your cohort in 2023

What are UCAT Deciles?

A decile is a tenth of the scorers of an exam.

The 1st decile indicates the top 10% of test-takers. The 10th decile indicates the bottom 10% of a test cohort.

Please see the table below for the UCAT deciles of the past seven years. Remember that a good score is dependent on each university - you must try to balance this with your other grades and work out which university is best for you and your grades.

Often when employing UCAT cut-off scores, universities such as Keele University may say “only UCAT third decile and above will be considered”.

Please speak to one of our UCAT tutors if you are stuck.

Please note: Final 2023 UCAT results can be found here. To see how each university uses the UCAT, please see our UCAT University + Cut Off Guide.
