Akash is an NHS GP and our founder. He received all four of his own offers to study medicine, graduated from Cambridge with a first class degree and from UCL with a distinction, and has mentored students through UK medical admissions since 2012. Medicine packages: your questions answered
What is the difference between the Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum Ultimate Packages?
Only the number of flexible 1-1 tutoring hours. Every tier includes the same full programme: doctor mentoring, the initial consultation, UCAT course and guides, five personal statement edits, university selection and interview preparation.
In the Silver 35-hour package, for example, you might spend 20 hours on the UCAT and 15 on interviews. It is completely flexible, you do not need to decide how to use the hours when you purchase, and more hours can be added later.
What is the difference between an Ultimate Package and individual tutoring?
Only the Ultimate Package includes mentoring from a qualified doctor throughout the year, the initial consultation to plan your whole application, and bespoke university selection advice. Individual packages cover a single stage, such as UCAT tutoring or interview coaching, with no mentor joining the stages up.
If you want support across more than one stage, the Ultimate Package also works out cheaper than buying each service separately.
Which package is best?
By far our most common package is Gold, with 50 hours: it allows ample time for the UCAT, personal statement and interviews without rationing. Bronze suits students who mainly want the mentoring and strategy, and Platinum suits students starting early or aiming for top-decile UCAT scores alongside full interview preparation.
Can I purchase more hours if needed?
Absolutely, we will do whatever it takes to help you win a place. Be aware that adding hours later is more expensive than choosing a bigger package at the start.
When should I start?
The earlier the better. Starting around a year before you apply leaves time to plan work experience, volunteering and wider reading properly, then peak for the UCAT and interviews. That said, students join us at every point in the cycle, right up to August of the application year, with great success.
Do I pay now, and what happens after I purchase?
Yes, purchasing online enrols you on the programme. We will be in touch within 24 hours to arrange your initial consultation, your mentor creates your personalised programme, and tutoring begins when it suits you.
Who will my mentor be?
A qualified doctor. Medicine mentoring is led by Dr Akash Gandhi, an NHS GP and our founder, and Ultimate Package students are mentored personally by a doctor on our team, supported by specialist UCAT, personal statement and interview tutors. You can meet the team here.
Is it suitable for international or graduate entry applicants?
Yes. Everything runs online, we schedule around your time zone, and the programme is regularly used by international, gap year, reapplicant and graduate entry medicine students. Your mentor folds the extra considerations, from fee status to university shortlisting, into your plan.
