“Harry got my UCAT up to 2,590, working through the sections I kept dropping marks on week by week. Gemma then ran my interview practice so the MMI stations didn't catch me out, and Dr Akash mentored me the whole way through. I'm off to King's for Medicine.”
Graduate Entry Medicine at Warwick: 2027 Entry
Warwick's MBChB admits only graduates, and the university describes it as the UK's largest graduate-entry medical programme. Before your UCAT total counts, your Verbal Reasoning score has to reach the mean of every test-taker.

Warwick graduate entry medicine, 2027 entry
Warwick Graduate Entry Medicine (MBChB, UCAS code A101) is a four-year course for graduates with a 2:1 in any subject (or a 2:2 with a Master's or doctorate), a UCAT Verbal Reasoning score at or above the mean of all test-takers, and at least 70 hours of health or social care work experience from the last three years.
Warwick shortlists on UCAT total combined with your degree, then checks your work experience, and invites around 500 applicants to multiple mini-interviews. For 2027 entry the MMIs run in person from 15 to 18 December 2026, with an online date of 13 January 2027 for eligible international applicants.
Warwick has 203 places, up to 13 of them international. For 2026 entry it received 1,326 applications, interviewed 549 and made 311 offers; the lowest UCAT total invited was 1,910 out of 2700.
The Verbal Reasoning rule, and the order Warwick checks everything else
Warwick's first academic test is a single UCAT subtest. You must score at least the overall mean Verbal Reasoning score of all test-takers that year. This was 600 for 2026 entry; the 2027 figure is released at the end of the testing cycle. Warwick sets no minimum UCAT total and does not use SJT bands.
- 1
Applied on time
Through UCAS between 1 September and 15 October 2026 (18:00). Warwick does not accept deferred entry or transfers.
- 2
Verbal Reasoning at or above the mean
Below it, the application is rejected whatever your total.
- 3
Degree requirement met
A 2:1 or above (achieved or predicted), or a 2:2 with a Master's or doctorate already held.
- 4
Top-ranked on UCAT total and degree
In the first round of selection Warwick considers academic achievement and UCAT total together.
- 5
Work experience meets the requirement
Checked through a separate online survey and verification letters after the UCAS deadline.
- 6
Among the best MMI candidates
Each candidate's score profile across the stations is reviewed.
- 7
Reference acceptable, then offer
The reference is considered before an offer is made, and decisions come through UCAS.
Your personal statement is checked for plagiarism but its content is not considered. If Verbal Reasoning is your weaker subtest, UCAT tutoring can focus on it.

Warwick UCAT scores by year, on two different scales
The scale changed for 2026 entry
Abstract Reasoning was withdrawn from the UCAT for 2026 entry onwards, so totals are now out of 2700. Scores for 2025 entry and earlier are out of 3600. A 2,450 from 2025 entry and a 1,910 from 2026 entry cannot be compared directly.
| Entry year | Scale | Lowest | Average | Highest |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2026 | out of 2700 | 1,910 | 2,080 | 2,610 |
| 2025 | out of 3600 | 2,450 | 2,750 | 3,490 |
| 2024 | out of 3600 | 2,450 | 2,750 | 3,400 |
| 2023 | out of 3600 | 2,580 | 2,700 | 3,400 |
| 2022 | out of 3600 | 2,660 | 2,860 | 3,280 |
Warwick says the total needed for an MMI invitation varies each year with the scores of that year's applicants, and it cannot say whether your score is high enough until all scores arrive in November. Figures are only published once a cycle is complete, so nothing is yet available for 2027 entry.

70 hours of work experience, verified on letter-headed paper
Warwick sets a measurable work experience threshold. Every applicant needs:
- at least 70 hours (two weeks full-time) of health or social care related work experience
- completed within the last three years
- across at least two different health or social care organisations
- covering at least two different roles or professions
After the UCAS deadline you receive a link to an online survey asking for each placement's details and a named contact who can confirm what you did and for how long. You then upload verification on the organisation's official letter-headed paper showing your hours, dates and role. Warwick recommends asking for letters at the time of each placement, and says it cannot review individual work experience in advance.

Warwick's MBChB is graduate entry only. Year 1 is spent mostly at Gibbet Hill campus and the nearby Clinical Education Hub, with around 35 timetabled hours a week for 30 weeks; from year 2 you are on placement with partner trusts including University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire, Warwick Hospital, George Eliot Hospital and the Alexandra Hospital. Primary care and community placements are within about 40 miles, and you arrange your own travel.
Summative exams fall at the end of year 1, the end of year 2 and in year 4, alongside the national Medical Licensing Assessment and Prescribing Safety Assessment. Year 4 includes an elective of five to six weeks. The MBChB is unclassified, with honours awarded on criteria set by the Board of Examiners.
