Questions about this event

Is the webinar free?

Yes, it is free to attend. Register on this page and we email your Zoom joining link straight away.

Who is the webinar for?

Year 11 and Year 12 students who are thinking seriously about medicine or dentistry, and their parents or guardians. Teachers, careers advisers and UCAS coordinators are welcome too.

If you are in Year 12 now, you will be applying for 2028 entry. If you are in Year 11, you will be applying for 2029 entry.

How do I join on the night?

Your Zoom link, meeting ID and passcode are emailed to you as soon as you register. We also send reminders a week before, the day before and an hour before the start.

If you cannot find the email, check your junk or spam folder, or email us at info@theukcatpeople.co.uk.

Will the webinar be recorded?

No. It is a live session and there is no recording, so please join on the day. We run this webinar a few times a year, and future dates are listed on our events page.

Can parents register on behalf of their child?

Yes. Choose Parent/Guardian on the form and add your child's full name. One registration covers everyone watching from the same screen, so please register once per household.

I am in Year 11. Is it too early?

No. Year 11 is a good time to find out what medical and dental schools look for. Several schools look closely at GCSE results, and the A-level subjects you choose now decide which courses you can apply to. It also leaves time to build up work experience, volunteering and wider reading before you apply.

When should I start preparing for the UCAT?

Most students sit the UCAT in the summer between Year 12 and Year 13. We suggest starting slowly in January of Year 12 with short, regular practice, keeping it light around your Year 12 exams, then building up to full preparation over the summer before a test date between July and September. We go through this in the webinar.

Can I ask about my own situation?

There is a Q&A at the end, and you can send us your questions when you register. We cannot go through individual applications in a group session, but we can talk about your situation one to one afterwards if you would like.

Can international students attend?

Yes. International students are very welcome. The session follows the UK application process, and all times are UK time (GMT), so please check what 7pm UK time is where you live.

“Harry got my UCAT up to 2,590, working through the sections I kept dropping marks on week by week. Gemma then ran my interview practice so the MMI stations didn't catch me out, and Dr Akash mentored me the whole way through. I'm off to King's for Medicine.”

“The interview prep was the part that actually moved the needle. Proper mock MMIs, not just lists of questions, and feedback that was honest about what I was getting wrong. I ended up with four offers and firmed UCL.”

“The Ultimate Package kept me organised from UCAT through to interviews. They knew what dental schools actually ask and tightened up my personal statement. Four offers in the end, and I'm going to Birmingham.”

“Vet applications come down to the written SAQs as much as the interview. Dr Rebecca went through my SAQs line by line, sharpened my answers and prepped me for the panels. I came away with four offers and chose the RVC.”
