Overview of University of Buckingham Medicine

The University of Buckingham Medical School is the UK's first independent not-for-profit Medical School. Our guiding philosophy is to produce highly ethical, honest and compassionate doctors who will put the patient first.

Our curriculum is derived from a well-established MB ChB programme that has been refined over 20 years to provide optimum learning experience. Every aspect of it has been engineered to fully equip our students with the skills necessary to start their journey as medical practioners.

Course Structure at University of Buckingham Medicine

The course is 4.5 years long.
In keeping with the Buckingham ethos, the ratio of students to academic staff, clinical educators and patients is kept low throughout Phases 1 and 2.

We will assess your progress rigorously throughout the course so that you, the Medical School and the public can be confident that you are meeting the high standards required of a doctor.

There will be a combination of written examinations, structured clinical examinations and the use of an e-portfolio of evidence of progress, all chosen to make the most valid and reliable test of your abilities.

"Doing 1-1 medicine interview practice with Akash provided me with the content, structure and confidence to succeed at my interview. Breaking up what I needed to do with helpful pointers to direct my practice proved invaluable when it came to medical interviews. I would recommend him to anybody wanting to secure their place at Medical School"

"My best advice is to get in contact with The UKCAT People (Akash & Sonal in particular) as soon as possible. Without your help I wouldn't have gained medicine offers from King's, Birmingham, Manchester and Sheffield for Dentistry! They went over and beyond!"

Benjamin, London

UCL Medical School

"Akash went through my medicine personal statement in immense detail, offering suggestions that none of my teachers had even thought of. He knew exactly what was needed to enhance my personal statement, and went through the tips logically."

"I travelled from Dublin to London for the UKCAT course run by Sonal from The UKCAT People, and it was definitely worthwhile! I'm now looking to continue with some UKCAT Skype lessons closer to my exam."
